This will allow you to pull the output shaft out of its housing. Note: Some Traxxas servos have two setscrews; if yours does, remove both before proceeding to step 5. If your Slash has electronic speed control (ESC) with reverse, now would be a good time to disconnect it so you don’t accidentally fry anything when you power up your Slash again in step 8 below! 5. Withdraw any remaining gears or other parts from inside the housing until you can see through to the bottom.

All that should be left is an empty space and some wires coming out of it. If there are still gears or other parts in there, carefully remove them so they don’t get damaged and put everything back together according to steps 1-4 above until all that’s left is an empty space and wires leading into it..
